As a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI), I am passionate about helping students to build independence, confidence, and access to the world around them. Through my work as a TSVI, graduate studies, and daily experiences supporting students with visual impairments, I continue learning alongside my students and the families that I serve.
Learning, Access, and Independence
Accessibility is not just about accommodations. It is about creating opportunities for students to participate, learn, communicate, and thrive in ways that work best for them. From braille and assistive technology to self-advocacy and transition planning, I believe that every student deserves the tools, support, and opportunities needed to succeed in a world that is not built for them.
From the Classroom
Every student learns differently, and one of the most rewarding parts of my work is finding creative ways to make learning accessible. Whether adapting materials, creating tactile resources, teaching braille and assistive technology skills, or supporting students as they build independence, I strive to meet each learner where they are.
No two students are exactly alike. By combining specialized tools, individualized instruction, and meaningful experiences, I help students access information, participate in their education, and develop skills that support lifelong learning.
